Fabric: real, soft leather (the Shaper corset homepage says it's made from goat leather) and real, sturdy cotton, as far as I can tell. No visible damages.

Workmanship: good, all the seams are ok and look durable. Two or three of the grommets and rivets are unevenly spaced but it's unnoticeable unless you look very, very closely.

Sizing: With an exact 28-inch waist I ordered a size 38 as recommended by the size table. The corset runs true to size, with one exception: I had to add three additional grommets to the neck closure otherwise it would have hung loosely from my nape.

Shape: It features a long pointed front (and back) but sitting is possible without a problem. It is long enough to look good on people taller than 5.7ft.

In action: Since purchasing I wore it once, but for 11 hours straight (to a concert and the aftershow party) and found it to be one of the most comfortable corsets I own. I am a light-to-medium lacer with a lacing gap of about 2 inches, so your mileage may vary.

Underworks Cotton Concealer Compression V-neck T-shirt

I've purchased control tops from this seller before on their website. In the past, their products were so-so, stitching unraveled quickly, and one had to purchase more pretty quickly. I noticed this style offered, which was new since my last purchase, so I decided to go ahead and order this style as well as the tank top version.

On receiving it and trying it on, the first thing I noticed was that it was a dual layer top, cotton spandex on the outside with a microfiber stretch layer on the inside. Both layers had a plush and smooth feel respectively. They go on fairly easy compared to the nylon stretch products I used to purchase from them in the sense that the old product used to stick to me and/or roll up.

This shirt has excellent compression qualities, and it stays put. I'm not having to constantly tug at the front of the shirt to get everything in place again and again. It holds its shape well too--doesn't lose its shape by the end of the day.

The only problem I have with it is that it is fairly thick so I feel that my pants feel tighter when I tuck this shirt as well as my regular shirt over it. It definitely makes you feel warmer in general.

The cotton stretch outer layer is soft and plush. Feels great, but it also makes whatever you're wearing over it stick to those places that you don't want it to stick, e.g. belly, chest, etc, so your shirt won't drape or float over your body properly. I fixed that by turning the shirt inside out so the microfiber layer is on the outside. You'll see the seams from outside your shirt, but that's not a big deal to me.

Next time, more than likely, I'll probably just pick up the microfiber version only without the cotton layer. Otherwise, this shirt does an excellent job in controlling the chest section which was what I really needed.Buy Underworks Cotton Concealer Compression V-neck T-shirt!

Crown Pull On Open Girdle

This has become my favorite open bottom girdle because:
>The garters are metal and attached to comfortable elastic tabs. There are six instead of four, so they put less stress on your stocking welts and keep your stockings from sliding around your legs during the course of the day.
>The elastic bands at the top and bottom are wide and don't bind your waist/legs the way some girdles with narrower bands do by the end of the day.
>There isn't a lace panel over the stomach, so it doesn't show through light dresses as much. It doesn't have any boning, hooks, or zippers. It's still a firm girdle, though, and instead has multiple layers of powernet inside of the girdle.
>Although I'm not sure about how well they actually conceal the garter, the lace ribbons are a nice finishing touch and are both protected against fraying and don't get in the way when you're fastening your stockings.
>The overall design is pretty and retro.

Like some bras, this girdle is a bit stiff when it's brand new and is initially a bit harder to get on and off than Rago's open bottom girdles. I broke each of my two girdles in by wearing them with stockings for a couple of hours without taking them on and off too often; after that, stiffness wasn't a problem anymore.

This girdle is based on a design that has been around for several decades, and I wouldn't recommend wearing it with a very short skirt (below-the-knee is about as far up as you can go without worrying about how you sit, though you can wear above-the-knee skirts if you're careful). I got the medium and it was way too tight -- I know I do not wear a large-size of anything so I don't know how they come up with their measurements! It was very hard to put on even several days after delivery because my hips were so achey and ligaments were loose -- it is much too uncomfortable to pull up all the way to my stomach.

I ordered a Spanx product and 2 bra's. I specified in my email that I absolutely needed it on 4/10/09. They sent an email that it had been dropped off to UPS on 4/9.09. As of 4/13/09 I do not have the package. The wedding is over. I tried sending emails - no replies. I talked to a very unfriendly woman this afternoon. Even AMEX understood that NOT delivering a wedding item in time for a wedding is inappropriate and they have placed a STOP on the charge. Of course once I advised Bare Necessities that I had stopped payment with AMEX, they answered my emails. I've read several reviews about Bare Necessities on line since ordering and it seems common practice to promise something by X date and to not come through! I had asked for my $22 overnight fee to be refunded - had they answered that email, I would have been fine but they choose to ignore my emails and when I didn't have the package 2 business days later, after paying for 1 business day delivery, I called AMEX to dispute the charge. They'll never ger my business again. I hope to post this on every site that accepts reviews for Bare Necessities - they are horrible - no customer service to speak of. Unfortunate for them given the recession a little bit would have went a long way.

Well, their loss. And a lesson learned - check reviews BEFORE purchasing. (Oh, their checkout process - you don't even get a chance to cancel the order - I hit forward and bang, the order was processed - no chance to change your order or mind.).
